Inspectors
Home
inspectors are very important when either buying or selling
your house, condo, or commercial property. Most real estate
contracts in Illinois allow for a 5-day home
inspection period, and I suggest you take advantage of it. Home
inspections are optional, but highly recommended, and are generally
paid for by the buyer. However, a seller may want to hire a home
inspector prior to listing their home for sale to avoid any home
inspection issues/surprises once they accept an offer. A quality
home inspector can potentially save you thousands
of dollars. A home inspector will conduct a thorough evaluation
of the subject property from the foundation to the roof. They
also conduct termite, mold, and radon tests, which are usually
for an additional fee. When hiring a home inspector it is extremely
important that they are licensed in the state in which you are
purchasing the home. The prices that home inspectors charge vary,
but usually start around $300 for a condo/town home and go up
from there. |
