Recent Home Sales Data (October 2008)
According to the Illinois Association of Realtors home sales in the
nine-county Chicago area was down an avg. of 17.7% in October. The
median price for a home in the Chicago area was $225,000 vs. $250,000
a year earlier.
In the city of Chicago home sales were 1,535 compared to 1,959 for the same period a year ago equaling a 21.6% decrease and the median home price fell to $260,000 from $285,900 a year earlier.
The nine-county area consists of the following counties: Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will.
